Connecting to a hotspot:
Look out for the ‘Hotspot Detected’ Window pop-up. Clicking
on this will take you to the Techloq Filter App where you should be able to
connect to the Hotspot as you would in a regular browser.
You can prompt this pop-up by connecting to the available wifi as you would
on a non-filtered device.
Use the ‘check hotspot’ button to refresh the page if it
doesn’t load properly.
If you are unable to connect using the previous steps, slide the toggle next
to ‘force hotspot mode’ in the top right corner of the app and
follow the instructions to contact our customer service team who will be able
to assist you further.
Don’t see the ‘Hotspot Detected’ window pop-up?
You can access the Techloq Filter App by double-clicking the Techloq icon in
your hidden icon tray. Double-click on the icon to open the window. Select the
‘hotspot’ tab on the left and continue as above.
For future instances when connecting to hotspot:
Click

now to download the 'hotspot tool', and make sure to save it somewhere useful.
If you ever again have trouble connecting to a hotspot, run this hotspot tool
and it will connect you to the hotspot without you having to contact us!
Incompatibility:
Unfortunately, there are some hotspots with which we are not compatible. These
are:
-
Many public libraries for example the Brick County and
Lakewood Public Libraries. This is because they often have their own filter
on their router and a filtered device cannot connect to a filtered router.
-
Many public locations such as universities,
schools, or hospitals will block a
filtered device from connecting to their internet. There are steps that can
be taken on their end to allow you to connect regularly so if there is any
way for you to communicate with the facility to have these steps put into
effect, get in contact with us and we can advise you further.
If you are using regular home or
office internet and you are experiencing issues with
connectivity, please
reach out to our support team
for assistance.
Can’t Connect:
If you have successfully connected to the hotspot but are getting a message in
your browser ‘can’t connect’, the issue you are experiencing
is not filter-related and may be resolved by using the ‘reset
network’ option in the network settings of your device.
Open your computer's 'settings' app. Locate the ‘Network and
Internet’ settings. Find the option for ‘Network Reset’, and
use the button ‘reset now’.
