What is a Reseller

Techloq has many resellers sometimes referred to as ‘service providers’. A ‘reseller’ refers to a team/organization with whom your account is associated. They can access and make changes to your account and may even have authority over some of the filter settings in your account.

You choose your reseller/service provider from a drop-down list in the process of account creation, however, this can also be changed at any later stage (see below 'Change Reseller').

Important to note: The reseller chosen during account set-up decides the permanent billing currency of your account - the billing currency cannot be changed on an existing account.

There are several ways in which having a reseller can affect your account:
Restricted reseller: Your reseller may place blocking restrictions on your account which Techloq agents are not at liberty to override. Such a reseller is referred to as a ‘restricted reseller’. Any major changes needing to be done on an account associated with a restricted reseller will have to be processed by the reseller. This would include processes such as uninstallation, temporary bypass of your filter, and some high-risk settings in your account.

Redirected requests: Any reseller, whether it is ‘restricted’ or not, may be processing some of your requests for access instead of Techloq. A reseller has the capability to choose to have requests under specific categories be redirected to themselves for processing. For example, if you request access to a website which falls under the category of Technology, and your reseller has chosen to have requests under these categories come to themselves, your request will be redirected over to your reseller for processing. This may sometimes mean a longer response time. Techloq agents are unable to override this feature.

Support: Your reseller may be able to offer in-person support or support at alternative hours to
Techloq support hours.

You can reach out to our support team to find out if your account is associated with a reseller and/or if the reseller is restricted. If an organization/team helped you to set up your filter, your account will likely be associated with them.

Change reseller: Your reseller can be changed at any time, however, if you would like to move away from a restricted reseller, they will have to be the ones to make the change for you.

No reseller: If you do not wish to have your account associated with any reseller, select the option for 'Techloq retail' and then the country/continent whose currency you would like to be billed by. See
here for our available billing currencies and the effect your choice of reseller will have on your account's currency.
